OT: Prayer Request

Post by Jessi » Wed Mar 04, 2009 9:20 pm

My husband's job is not looking good. They are laying people off every month, and forcing the employees to take the last week of both January and February off. I just found out tonight that he is now being forced to take two weeks off this month. And there doesn't appear to be a turn around in the near future...God is good and he is sovereign, but I'd covet some prayers. I know we will be ok. I am asking for prayers for my amazing husband. He is so stressed out right now and my heart hurts for him. Thank you ladies.

Jessi, I will add my prayers as well. I know exactly where you are coming from. My dear husband worked at our local tire plant for almost 21 years and they closed the plant when my daughter was only 9 months old. She will be 5 years old in less than two weeks!

Even though my husband has worked odd jobs all this time he has yet to find another full time job. And hasn't had anything that compared to the level of income he had not to mention health insurance.

But like you said, GOD IS GOOD! He hasn't once let a bill go unpaid (not even late) or not somehow provide EVERYTHING we needed.

I admit, it is hard sometimes, but it just makes me draw closer to the Lord and that is our entire purpose in life!!

May God comfort you during this time. :)

Jessi - I am praying for both you and your dh. God has good things planned for you - I pray He reveals that to you. You are under His protection, Jessi, and He will take care of you and your family. This verse gives me comfort in uncertain times -

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you ladies for the prayers. I can feel them. It is such a blessing to know we can uplift each other in praise and concern. Julie, I love that verse. It has helped me through a lot.

Happy@home thanks for the encouragement. :)

Oh Jessie I am so sorry. We just went through this ourselves. God was very faithful. In fact he blessed us in it. Pray very hard and very specifically. I know He will provide for you. It is a hard walk but keep your faith and pray hard. He is so faithful! I know you will have a wonderful story to tell out of this. Praying for you. He is good and He is good all the time. Don't forget that. He has not forgotten your family either. :D Many prayers for blessings to your family!

Again thank you so much dear friends. I have been doing remarkably well all things considered. I can feel the prayers surrounding us. Plus my mom prayed over us on the phone which was just wonderful! Georgette, I will be praying for your family in the upcoming months regarding your husband's job. No matter how dark the road ahead, I know my God is an everlasting light. AMEN!
