I know I have read this somewhere, yet when I search it says it is 'too common'... so,

am I correct in understanding that there are suggested schedules in the appendix for reading the deluxe history books and extension pack books? I am looking specifically at Preparing! Thanks ahead of time. :D
It's only March and I'm already so excited about next fall! he he!

Also... about how much time should be spent each day for the deluxe history readings and the self study extension packs for older students?

Hi Butterfly :)

The readings and activities for the Deluxe books are the ones in the "indepdent history" section at the bottom of the left-hand page. The Extension readings are scheduled in the appendix.

We're on week 15 and my 10yos have done the extension books this year. They haven't taken a great deal of time; it's usually the equivalent of one chapter or less.

The independent history has been a HUGE hit! Timewise, it can vary. The other day's was very short because they only had to read one section of a book and narrate to me. Other days, like when they're drawing and coloring in a sketch from the Draw & Write, it might take 20 minutes or more (depends on how careful they're being  )

I'm sure you're going to love Preparing. This has been by far our best hs'ing year ever!
