How God weaves it all together

I just had to share this because I know you ladies experience things like this too and will appreciate seeing how God weaves what we're learning with HOD with other things that are going on in our lives. This is just a very simple thing, but it seems as though things like this happen
ALL the time and it feels as if God is giving me a hug of encouragement. This morning I was going through Ben's Cubbies bag to make sure that he is ready for Awana tonight, and I pulled out a bright yellow sheet of paper from the director that says "Next week (meaning tonight) is the color YELLOW night. The color yellow reminds us of the glory of heaven and the hope we have in Jesus. Wear something YELLOW as a bright reminder!" Now, can you ladies guess what unit we are on this week in LHTH? Come on, just take a guess.

That's right, unit 21. Do you know what Ben did on Monday for this unit? He cut out pictures of yellow items from magazines and glued them on to a paper that says "YELLOW is...for the bright light from heaven that shone as the angels sang about Jesus' birth." Huh, what a coincidence - NOT!!!

It just humbles my heart to know that the God of the universe cares enough about my small child (and his mama) to bring that together in that way.

Sharon,
Thank you for sharing that with us!
How perfect is God's timing? Your story just shows how wonderful and meaningful even the small connections (actually it's pretty big!) are as they are made by our children. Definitely a confirmation that you are following the path He has set before you, school-wise and otherwise. I love when it all comes together like that.

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I've just realized that I need to give more of my worries and cares to God and let him control our homeschool instead of fretting over every little thing. It's probably obvious to most of you but it sort of just hit me recently. Actually that was our memory verse a couple weeks ago in Beyond (I Peter 5:7). And the boys reminded me of it one day that week when I was somewhat frazzled.

How neat! Thanks for sharing! I just love stories like this.
We have had similar things happen, where our HOD studies align perfectly with AWANA verses for the week or Sunday School lessons, etc. Also, this past weekend, we were able to stay in a Bed & Breakfast in eastern Pennsylvania that has a barn which was used in the Underground Railroad. Guess what were studying in Bigger right now?? That's right - slavery.

It IS just so cool, how the Lord weaves it all together like your post is titled.

Using HOD this year has really taught me a lesson about how the Lord will bless when I am willing to let Him lead and take control of our homeschool.

Oh, what neat connections! Thankfully the Lord is ultimately in control of our schooling, and He is amazing at weaving together all sorts of connections that point us ever more toward Him!
Blessings,
Carrie

That is PRICELESS! What an amazing and GRACIOUS God we serve..., "He rides across the heavens to help us, across the skies in MAJESTIC SPLENDOR!" Duet 33:26

I had to quote you on this - I love what you said here.
God, giving a hug of encouragement, now what could be better than that?!? I agree. They are sometimes surprisingly simple things that connect this and that in our lives with HOD - but God is the glue in HOD, so He holds it all together in a way that affects our lives as a whole. It is amazing how we can see God's hand when we look for it - and when we see God's hand in the little things - we can see Him more easily when the big things come along too. Thanks for sharing how God is working in your life and how He is giving you encouragement - it makes us look for it in our lives too!
In Christ,
Julie
