dictation in Bigger

I see on the placement chart that a child beginning Bigger needs to be ready to begin simple dictation. Would someone please give me an example of an early dictation assignment? I'd like to compare it to what my son is currently doing.

The first passage is:
Sue has a bird.
It can call and sing.
king ring wing
The child studies the passage which does not need to include the extra words at the bottom if he is not ready for them. Then you take it away and dictate one sentence at a time and have the child repeat the sentence, then write it.
The sentences get a bit longer and the number of extra words goes up as you move through it but there are still only 2 sentences in each passage.
