NT Lapbook in Ancients?

Post by SouthernMrs » Sat Feb 21, 2009 6:48 pm

Hi Carrie,
I may have missed the final discussion on this topic, but I was just wondering about the NT lapbook (from HITW) that was previously mentioned as a possibility for the new Ancients guide. I didn't see it listed, but I thought you mentioned "test driving" that one at your house. Did you? If so, how was it? We have not done lapbooks at our house (other than one holiday one), but I thought this sounded fun, so I was just wondering if you did use it, and why you chose not to include it in the new guide. :) Just curious!
Take care,
Charlene

Charlene,

This one ended up to be too time-consuming to include within our new ancients guide. It would have taken up most of our Independent History study box for the year, in order to do it in the bite-sized pieces we desired. So, we went for a more balanced approach in that particular box and the lapbook had to "give".

It is so hard to make those final difficult choices when selecting resources! Good things often have to go to make room for those that are the best. 8)

Blessings,
Carrie

Hi Carrie,
Yes, I agree. Thanks for letting me know! Like I mentioned we haven't done lapbooks at our house, but I just wondered what you thought of this one.

BTW, my husband and I are discussing which convention we'll attend this year and it looks like I'll miss you at the NCHE.
I think we're going to try to hit the HEAV convention on our way south this year. This one is in June and will give us a couple more weeks to finish up our schooling here at home before heading down.

Take care,
Charlene

We use the HITW NT lapbook along with our Bible reading as we go on the side. It's an easy thing to add if you want to just enjoy it. You don't get to do it the Carrie way but it is a fun add in that way on the side as well. :D

Thanks for letting me know!
I may take a look at it when we go to convention in June.
Thanks again!
