Scripture Memory Memory

Post by Patience » Sat Feb 07, 2009 5:48 pm

I just wanted to tell you all what a great week we had with the scripture memory. I love to sing and play music, and had been looking for an opportunity to have the kids write a song of their own. The scripture memory for this week was on the longer side (1 John 4:10-11..THis is love not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son, as an atoning sacrifice for our sins....Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another) so we sat at the piano and in less than 20 minutes had a pretty good song if I do say so myself! Tonight at dinner we were practicing our verse for the final time, and my son started talking about how he wants to make a song for all of the verse's and then make a CD! I am just so happy that there is a spark and a project that he is interested in, so thanks for letting me share this! I love the verse's that HOD has. They are well chosen. We also had a good discussion about why we read God's word.

Oh that sounds wonderful. I wish I could play piano that sounds so sweet. How wonderful you are doing this with your lovies. They will remember that for the rest of their life. Thanks for sharing! :D

Oh Patience, what a precious testimony. I can almost close my eyes and see you sitting at your piano with your children gathered around..., priceless.

Patience,

What a blessing to have your little ones love to sing and for you to be able to play the piano! :D I love that you have time to do these types of projects within your day. One of our HOD goals is to allow your kiddos (and you) to have some time in each day to do projects that are near to dear to your heart (and that often spring from something in your HOD program). 8)

Thanks for sharing your special idea and for sharing your kiddos enthusiasm with us. 8)

Blessings,
Carrie

What fun! I think it's important to share our talents with our dc, and there's no better way to do that than by doing it with God at the center!
