Length of time for Preparing w/extensions and Dithor

Post by playschool » Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:45 am

How long on the average should Preparing w/extensions and DITHOR take for a 6th grader? (That is including independent work and work with me as her teacher.) Would a 6th grader still be on a 4-day schedule if using all of the recommendations for English (on her level, of course) and Math (if using Singapore)?

My ds, who is 9 yo, spends 4 hours on PHFHG. He doesn't do the extension package, but he does the Deluxe Self-Study package, so that would be similar - though the extension package may take a bit longer. Your older ds's grammar/math may take more, depending what you do. We do 2/3 of the R & S grammar orally. I would guess your sixth grader should be done in 5 hours for sure. I'm sure other moms with older dc doing PHFHG will be more helpful here, but I thought I'd chime in with how long it's taking us.
