OT Praise!

I wanted to thank those of you who have prayed for my dh and his employment. God really heard. My dh has received an offer and tomorrow we will hear a bit more of the details. We do know that salary will remain the same, that is a blessing, and that he will get a title change also a blessing. He has been trying to get back into programing and this job gives him back the engineering title that actually reflects his degree and early years experience even though he has been working mostly as a technical writer and programing only on the side. So that is all a huge blessing. We are now praying for a start date of April 1st so that we can not walk away from a large chunk of cash at his present job. It would be a huge help to us and a big step toward getting him to be able to give up side jobs. But just to have a job and to not have to officially go without one is a huge and wonderful blessing.
God has been so good to us! He is there and walks with you when you do not know where the path will lead. And he has blessings in place before you even know where you are headed. He is good all the time! Thank you so much for your prayers!

Praise the Lord! I'm glad to hear this!
Will you be moving, or was he able to find work where you're at in GA?

We are staying put! I am so happy for that. I just want to grow roots and stay here until my children are grown. The job is close to where he used to work. The only interesting thing is he will be doing support early on to their customers and that entails weird hours including a 12 hour day on Sat and 10 hour shifts the other days but he only works 4 days a week. That is going to make getting his contract hours in much easier. Plus if we can start later and he gets the bonus it is going to get us closer to him not having to take extra work. I am so thrilled! Tomorrow we find out the hire date and if they will wait. But God has been so good I believe He will handle that as well. We were really spared so much. He has really provided to the point where this has gone from trial to blessing. I am so excited for my dh. I think he will really like this job and it is finally one where he has opportunity to grow. He so needs that. I'm really thrilled and so happy to stay put!

I would have moved and done whatever it took but I am thrilled God did not ask that of us. Sometimes all it takes is just to be willing I suppose.
I know there are other families who have not had the happy endings we have just gotten. My heart breaks for those families and I am praying for them. I have been there many times and it is a hard road but I also know God gets you through it.
Anyway long answer for YES we are staying! Hooray!

Double Praise the Lord!!

I'm so happy for you!
It was so encouraging to see you respond in such faith to this trial. I always have to rebuke myself a little for when I think, "Oh, that's too bad. What's going to happen?" when I see difficult things happening in others' lives or my own. Your story is such an example of God having a wonderful plan for your family already planned out. And we're surprised?!?
I'm so thankful for the good circumstances you're in now. To God be the Glory!

Thank you Kathleen for your wonderful encouragement.

You are a blessing. God is good and He has taken good care of us. It's so funny sometimes God is trying to save us from something or bring us to a better place and we go kicking and screaming instead of allowing the change. I do feel really blessed that He saw fit to answer our prayers so quickly and specifically. My dh is giving notice today. They want him to start right away and that is a blessing.
Now I need to remember to be in prayer for the other families that God is still working out their circumstances. And the others here that have so much unknown in their lives. Praying that God will bless them with even more than He has blessed us. I know He is faithful to us and He will be to them as well!

I am so happy for you and your dh - and yes, God IS good - all of the time! I'll continue to pray for your dh and you about this. I am glad you don't have to move. God sometimes steps in and saves us from something - often unknown to us - but to us it seems as if life is just going down a wrong path. I try to remind myself of that, but it's hard to maintain that focus sometimes. You are an example of a person who is able to maintain that faith, even in times of hardship. God bless!
In Christ,
Julie

water2wine,
What a blessing! I'm so glad that you shared your praise today, as it shows the Lord's faithfulness in your life and the life of your family!

We'll pray for an April 1st start date, knowing that the Lord's timing is perfect.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you. The Lord's timing is perfect and it was decided he would start in two weeks. But come to find out that there was some resentment building with the boss he would have had if we had accepted the transfer to Portland at his current job that we could not. Apparently this person found out that dh made more than him and he would be dh's new boss if we took the move. There was a big stink about it and as it turns out it seems leaving now is God's best for us since having a boss that resents you is never a good thing.

Funny how God works those things out for you behind the scene. It would have been nice to get the bonus but it is more than enough to have a job. In the long run it is very clear that it is in dh's interest to start his new job now. I am in awe of how God closes doors and opens others and what sometimes we do not even see He is saving us from in the end. It's a good thing to remember and I am God God allowed us to see it this time. What looks best is not always God's best even when there is a price tag associated with it that looks like a blessing. Perfect confirmation.
