Christian Liberty Press books- which edition?

The question about American Pioneers and Patriots got me thinking about the other CLP books used in LHFHG and Beyond. In LHFHG, the website shows the older edition of History Stories for Children, but the catalog shows the newer second edition. Which one do I get?
What about Stories of the Pilgrims and Boys and Girls of Colonial Days? Do I get the revised second editions or does it matter? Thanks

Jennifer,
You can remain up to date as far as any changes or revisions that have taken place within the materials that correspond to the program/guide you are using by accessing the "Updates" section of the HOD website.
To access the "Updates" section from the Homepage, just click on the program (Click on one of the program covers)that the revised edition would correspond to. Then scroll down just a bit until you see the "Updates" section, it will be seen on the lower right side of the page. Click on "Updates" and it will take you to any changes that have occured. There is a PDF function that you can access to clearly note or print those changes.
Here is the direct link to the "Updates" section:

So basically I could get either edition, and just follow the schedule written in the book or the update? Is there any advantage to getting the newer editions over the older ones? The newer editions cost more, but are they better somehow as well? Thanks

Jennifer,
I think I will step aside and let Carrie answer as I know I would probably leave out some important details! I just am not sure how the updated version of HSFC makes it advantageous over the older edition. I would be curiuos to find out.
So, I guess we will both see what Carrie has to say!

Okay, now I feel like I am on a treasure hunt...I can't stop, here is some info I found from an older post:
Here is the content that directly relates (as written by Carrie):
Christian Liberty Press just came out with a new version of "History Stories for Children". It is actually the same exact text as the previous version, but it has been reformatted in a different font with a new cover and a few colored pictures. If your book is blue it is the new version. The older version has a brown cover.

Jennifer,
Eventually, as we reprint each guide, we will be replacing old editions of texts with their new versions. As we've been using the new version of History Stories for Children this year, I am finding it to be much better formatted and type-set. There are additional pictures in grayscale, and they are very pleasing. We have found a couple of spots where additional content was also added, especially in reference to Jamestown and the celebrations held for its anniversary in 2007. If you do not already own the old version and are puchasing a book anyway, I would definitely get the new versions.
Blessings,
Carrie
