Melissa,
We are very excited about the geography study in the new ancients guide. It will use "A Child's Geography of the Bible Lands" as its core.
As far as poetry goes, we will be studying the poetry of Robert Frost. At present the plan is for the poems to be grouped by seasons. Students will be doing a seasonal painting for each season based on the poetry, adding one item or object to the scene each week until the painting is complete. Plans will direct students what to paint, but still allow for their own creativity to shine through. Students will also choose one poem of Robert Frost's per quarter to memorize and recite.
Blessings,
Carrie

I can hardly wait, Carrie! If PHFHG wasn't so great, I'd really be in a bind!

What fun! I'm not a huge poetry person, but that sounds wonderful!
Thank you!

Carrie, this sounds like so much fun!

When I read these little "teasers", it really makes me want to jump right in and do the new guide with my kids. But, really it's not hard to be content since what we're doing is just as great!

Good thing you didn't start writing well just now! Whew!
Keep up the good work! I love your ideas!
