Done with R&S 2, not ready for R&S 3...what now?

DD7 has already completed R&S 2 so when we start Bigger in the Fall, I don't want to repeat it. And although she'll be 3rd grade, I don't want to put her in R&S 3 yet. What do you think would be a good follow up to R&S 2 that is not as in depth as R&S 3 so we can do 3 the following year? I want it to challenge her and prepare her for 3, not replace 3 (I edited about this below). We did R&S 2 last year and are doing just the grammar lessons in Beyond this year (plus some Mad Libs Jr...LOL.)

ETA: Just wondering, will we miss any writing assignments by not using R&S in Bigger?
Also, if we used something else in 3rd grade and if she was ready, could we go on to R&S 4 in 4th? She's advanced, but I just want to hold off on diagramming and wonder if she can go into book 4 or will she be lost jumping into diagramming and the more advanced lessons if she does something besides R&S for 3rd??

Tamara,

I would still just move your daughter into Rod and Staff English 3, so she doesn't have too big of a gap between Rod and Staff 2 and 3. Those 2 programs build very well upon one another. You could easily do English 3 at half-speed, doing it twice a week. The Queen's Language Lesson books overlap quite a bit with the rest of the teaching already scheduled in Bigger, and so wouldn't be as effective in covering needed skills as Rod and Staff. :D

I'd also hate to see you miss the poetry in Bigger, since it all coordinates with the history in Bigger (and has an amazing study of poetry itself woven within the plans in Bigger).

Blessings,
Carrie
