Primary Math 1A & 1B question

I have a question about the Singapore primary math 1A/1B set. It looks like for LHFHG you need to buy the Textbooks and Workbooks...$34.80 for the set. But for Beyond you only need to buy the workbooks ($17.40). I am planning on using Beyond with my oldest, but I think she should be in 2A/2B. However, I was going to also get the 1A/1B set in case we needed to go back a bit. (I will be pulling her out of public school, so I am not sure exactly where she will place next year.) And if she didn't need 1A/1B, I will eventually use them for my son when he gets into LHFHG.

So, I guess I am wondering whether I should buy the set with the Texbooks, or just the Workbooks?? Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Ok, I think what you're asking is when do you need to buy the textbooks and workbooks for Singapore in the early years, and when do you just need the workbooks. Is that right?

Carrie has written hands-on math activities to go along with the Singapore workbooks in the early years.
LHFHG - Early-Bird 2A and 2B
BLHFHG (Beyond) - Singapore 1A and 1B
BHFHG (Bigger) - Singapore 2A and 2B

If you are using one of these levels of Singapore and have the corresponding guide from HOD, you do not need to purchase the textbook also. But, if you are planning to do Singapore 1A and 1B during the time you're doing LHFHG and you DON'T purchase the Beyond guide, you'd want to use the textbook to help teach the concepts. I would reccommend getting the corresponding HOD guide because I have loved the math activities that I've done in Bigger with my son! :D You'd have to decide if finances allow that or not though. It would technically be "cheaper" to just get the Singapore textbooks and follow the schedule in the back of the LHFHG guide, but if you're planning on doing Beyond the following year anyway, it would actually be cheaper in the long run to just buy something you're already planning on using. Your "year ahead" problem in math will stop at Singapore 3A because from this point on Carrie just schedules the Singapore textbook and workbook pages - no more hands on.

Hope that makes sense and answers your question!
