Question about LHTH Unit 1 Day 4

Did your children have trouble finding the lower case a's? My son couldn't find them, but I think it is because the font that they use to teach the A and the font that they use for the A in the text on that page is different. KWIM? I printed the page out using my word processor with a similar font to the flashcard and he didn't have any trouble at all.

Just curious if you noticed the same thing or not!

Thanks!

Kristy,

I get what you are saying, it took me a few minutes!
Yes, I see that there are two different types of font for the lowercase "a", you are very observant! I don't recall ever noticing that as we went through that lesson. I guess my daughter didn't notice either!

If I had run into that situation I suppose I would just use it as an opportunity to explain the different ways the lowercase "a" can be written. :D

This is what I did. I think (can't remember for sure) that in the introduction it says to have your kids look for all the uppercase letters...and if that's easy for them to move to the lower case. So, you could just have your child look for the upper case letters. And if that isn't enough, I'm sure they'd be ready for the explanation of the different ways "a's" are written.
