My Five year old had me in tears in church

I was soooo proud and happy. And believe me- its not often I get that feeling with N in church :.We are methodists so we have different preachers most weeks. The local preachers cover the whole district. But this preacher was a minister and I dont think I had seen her preach for us before. The preacher put the mic on him and asked him his name.I was half afraid that when asked his name he would say Hotrod,Lightning, spiderman.Infact I never know what he is going to come out with for the whatsyourname question. But He answered his name. Then she asked him what christmas was all about. Now seriously N could come out with anything.I wouldnt have been suprised if he had said Christmas is when we get stuff-But when asked what christmas was all about he answered so brilliantly-I wish I could remember exactly his words but basically he got to the point of Jesus was born and he came to die for our sins. The preacher asked him where this happened and N told her it was bethlehem, and she told him how she had been to bethlehem and he asked her if there were wells there.I was trying hard to cry with happiness/pride/joy....Anyhow another first was the preacher stopped me after the service to tell me what a wonderful job I was doing teaching N.When N a few months ago shared with the organist that he was being home schooled I thought she was going to have a heart attack-It went like this< :jawdrop gasp> "He doesnt go to school? < :jawdrop gasp> "Is that legal?".So for someone to tell me Im doing good is brilliant...and rare.
I know my son is learning whats important.
Thanks HOD

That's great...it's so nice when our kids show that they actually are learning, even when we think they may not have been listening! And it feels so great to hear "good job". :)

Sam,

I'm taking a minute here to rejoice with you (before running off to teach some more)! As moms we need to savor those times when we get a glimpse that are kiddos really are taking to heart more of what we're doing than we think. 8)

The best part is how the Lord was glorified through your little one's moment to shine too. :D Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Carrie

Sam - these are moments to remember, aren't they? God gives us little "gifts" like moments such as this to remind us He's always aware of what we are doing for Him. I am celebrating along with you, and tuck this memory away to cherish!

In Christ,
Julie :D

Awe, What a great story. Isn't it wonderful when they really get it and you see them able to answer questions on the true meaning of things with spiritual and biblical based answers. How wonderful. You are doing a great job! :D What a special Christmas blessing your son gave you this year. Enjoy it!
