I know it has been awhile. For those new or ones that do not remember me.... I am Teena. Mom of 6. My 11 dd is in BHFHG. My two boys ages 5 & 6 are in LHFHG.

We have been real lax..... and have taken time off in December for all of our Christmas extras. We're doing Advent.... and making gingerbread houses, peanut butter balls, coconut balls, oreo truffles, reading Christmas stories, going caroling at the nursing homes.

But ..... I am looking forward to jumping back in.

I have decided that we will continue each program UNTIL finished. When spring comes I will buy the next set  and when we finish this set .... we will start the next  Is that what most of you do?

I just love it. My dd who is 11 and might need to be in Preparing..... is loving BHFHG. We are doing extensions and she is falling in love with HISTORY..... the pilgrim girl, pocahontas, padro..... we love the maps and charting where they have been. The boys love Reddy Fox and the others..... they love the songs and motion stuff....

I am so thankful for this program. Thank you Carrie and may the Lord bless and keep you and make His face shine on you this Christmas season.

HUGS

Enjoy your Christmas! :D Doing all those fun Christmas things is so good for the kiddos, and it helps build such wonderful memories.

And yes, I think just picking back up where you left off and keep going when you start back sounds like a good plan. I think in some cases some moms will just stop where they are when they get to the end of the school year and then will just pick back up at the beginning of the next school year, and will start the next guide when they finish. We are going to school year round, but there are lots of ways you can do it and they are all the right way, because it's just whatever works best for you. That's why HOD is so wonderful! :D

isn't it a blessing to just be able to stop and take that time to really appreciate your children and know you will still have a great program waiting for you. :D So glad you are still loving it and it is great to see you posting again. Have a blessed Christmas! Enjoy your little lovies! :D

Teena6,

Good to hear from you! I'm so glad you are enjoying the season and that your older daughter is learning to love history! No worries over her needing to be in Preparing, as she's in the extension pack target range (ages 10-11). :D

Enjoy the journey!

Blessings,
Carrie

Teena6,

So neat to hear your update,it sounds like you are having a wonderful and memorable Christamas season! I am dying to know what Oreo Truffles are! :D

So neat to hear that your daughter is falling in love with history and BHFHG, what a satisfying feeling that must be for you and your daughter and what a neat accomplishment, congratulations.
LHFHG is equally fantastic, so neat to hear that your boys are enjoying it along with Reddy Fox. We started LHFHG not too long ago and my dd loves the storytime with Reddy Fox, Granny Fox, Ol' Mistah' Buzzard and the rest of the gang. We have since decided to back up a bit and return to LHTH so we can enjoy and savor it, perhaps we will include the storytime portion of LHFHG with it so we can continue on with Reddy Fox and his many adventures...too fun and such great lessons to be learned!
Look forward to hearing from you again soon!

Candice :D

Thank you Ladies .... how nice all your comments. I am very satisfied with HOD. This is our 18th year hs-ing BUT our first year using HOD. I just love it.

I am an older mom (47) our oldest is married and is 23. I just feel like HOD was an answer to prayer as I was stressing over getting it all done (which we never do) with the olders youngers and even married children.....

I am very excited to know that my dd will finish BHFHG and then on to Preparing and then on to the next one

Candice I will start a thread with Oreo truffles in the title.... :)
