Question about re-using curriculum

I'm new to homeschooling and have been teaching my just turned 5 yr old son kindergarten this year. I have another son who will be 3 in April. My question is if I purchase HOD, will I be able to re-use the curriculum with my younger son when he turns 4 or will I need to purchase everything again. I do know there will be certain workbooks etc that will be written in but what is the cost to replace those items only. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the great adventure of homeschooling and the friendly world of HOD!! Glad to have you!!
One of the great things about this curriculum is that once you purchase the books it is completely re-usable. At least in the lower grades (I have used LHFHG and just received BHFHG) there are only a few "workbooks"...In LHFHG there are two workbooks that are very inexpensive and the rest is nonconsumable. This curriculum is not a "workbook" curriculum...it involves delightful living books and hands on activities that get everyone up and doing, not just seat work. This makes the curriculum fun and also very cost-effective!! Hope that helps!

Thank you, it really helps a lot. Not seeing the curriculum in person makes it hard to see how everything works. I love the idea of not a lot of seat work. this year we're doing classical conversations...not sure if you've heard of it. We really enjoy it but I have baby number 3 on the way and I really need to simplify things. I may go back to the memory work at a later day or just add it with HOD. Has anyone tried classical along with HOD?

mommy0908- I just posted a question about classical and charlotte mason. My pastor's wife is interested in Classical Conversations.
I'm going to pm you about it, as I am wanting more info about CC to give her.
HOD is awesome about re-using the products! Some workbooks would need to be. I sat down and figured out that if I purchased the programs for Emma, there was very little I'd have to get for Logan down the road. That is quite attractive...that and filling my house with awesome books to have on hand!
I think you'll really like HOD, especially with soon to be three little ones. It breaks it into small portions and is very doable with a busy schedule.

Hi,
I'm still fairly new to HOD, but I wanted to chime in and say that HOD does include memory work, copy work, etc...

Welcome to HOD. That is one of the things I love about HOD. I get to do a program with my oldest four then I get to do it again with my youngest two and at some point I may end up using programs three times. It is so cost effective. And in truth what is great is I am excited to do what I am doing with my older kids with my two littlest on day. It's like a wonderful family tradition and they get to build the same memories over time. I love that!
Welcome to HOD. You will love it!

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement!
Jessi, I sent you a PM but I can't tell if was sent to you or not. Still trying to figure all this out. I hope you see this and if you didn't get my response to your questions about CC, let me know.
