Mixed Singapore Levels w/ BLHFHG

I gave dd the Singapore placement test.

She past the 1A with flying colors but needs some extra help with 1B (mostly because of mulitplication).

I looked on the placement guide at the site and it lists 1B and 2A as a typical 2nd grade year for the average student.

If we're going to use BLHFHG, how would this work? I need to just order a manual and start looking through it, with all these questions that I have.

My impression is that the typical BLHFHG student is going to use 1A/1B or 2A/2B.

So how would we incorporate the 1B/2A into next year?

If you're doing Beyond, you would just have a separate sticky note in your guide for math at the point at which 1B begins. You would just teach 1B all the way through following the math plans in Beyond. You'd only needed the workbook for 1B and not the textbook. :D

When you get to the point where you finish 1B and will use 2A, you could either use the 2A workbook/textbook combo. (as scheduled in the Appendix of Beyond), or purchase the Bigger Hearts guide to have the math activities that go with 2A. If you choose to purchase the Bigger guide for the math activities, you would only need the 2A workbook (and wouldn't have to purchase the 2A textbook then). :D

Is that clear as mud?

Blessings,
Carrie
