My ds6 asked me yesterday when he was going to get to his brother's Preparing book. (He has been sitting in on the history and thinks the rest of the book is probably just as cool ). I pulled up the website and showed him the books. I told him he'd do Bigger, the green book, next and then move into Preparing. We talked about the books he has already done, and how cute it will be when his little sister gets to start our HOD journey. My ds10 came in and wanted to see what his next book would look like. I explained that the next book was currently being written, and that we would get to see it next summer. Then we talked about how there were 3 more books after the new one. His eyes got big and he asked, "Just three?" I told him, yes, just three--that Mrs. Carrie (yes, I'm from the South!) wasn't planning on writing guides into high school. "But why not?" he asked. "I don't want to do anything else!" And bless his heart, he knows whereof he speaks. My ds 6 has used LHTH, LHFHG, and now Beyond, but ds10 has done some curriculum hopping, so he has experience with what else is out there.

So, at the urging of my 10 year old:

Carrie, Caleb officially requests that you prayerfully consider writing guides into high school so that he doesn't have to use "that other stuff."

That brought a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing. And hopefully God will lead Carrie to write for High School, but I also know if He does not lead her to do that, she'll direct us to some wonderful programs out there. But let's hope He IS leading to HOD High School. She'd make a lot of mamas happy and it would appear a lot of kids too.

You brought tears to my eyes tonight! Thank Caleb for his vote of confidence and tell him I am and will continue to be in prayer over writing guides for high school. We will have our own highschooler in just 1 and 1/2 years, and the closer I get the less daunting it is looking!

So, we won't say that we absolutely will not write for high school, and we'll leave the door open for the Lord to direct us as He will. Our deepest desire is to encourage families to complete their homeschool journey and to reap the blessings we know can be had by homeschooling through high school. If the Lord chooses to use us to write curriculum guides in that capacity, we would answer His call.

I hear the doors opening and am rejoicing! My kids and I are praying that God will equip and call you to this. None of us can imagine doing High school without the wonderful godly thread and blessings HOD provides. Please do really consider it. What a blessing it would be to so many. I know it is a lot to ask of your family but it is clearly a ministry for which God has anointed you so far and I believe He could definitely do that for four more guides!
