HI all,

I'm trying to make sure I understand the assignments and I need some help clarifying the instructions on Unit 1, Day 2 of Preparing. In the Language Arts box the students are instructed "to complete one of the English options listed below." There are 3 options starred and listed followed by a poetry assignment using the week's poem. Is the poetry assignment in addition to selecting one of the 3 starred items or is it a 4th option?

Hi! We do the R&S assignment AND the poetry assignment. I think that's the way it's supposed to work. I hope so anyway, otherwise we're doing it wrong!

What is confusing to me is on other days there is a separate poetry block and on this day there is not, so I thought maybe there was an overlap.

Hi Florence,

One day per unit the poetry is used as a springboard for a creative writing assignment, which is why it's incorporated into the LA box. You'll notice that on this day there is no dictation assigned also, in order to give you time to complete the writing for the day.
