Indirect lessons :)

Post by Mom2Monkeys » Thu Oct 30, 2008 10:44 am

DD7 has been learning to be more observant to what she sees and hears in order to improve in her narrations. We've done a few picture studies in the past, but she's the type that if it isn't her idea, she just isn't as in to it...well, she go really into studying the picture on the front of ds's LHTH. Suddenly, she smiled from ear to ear and said "Hey! This picture just goes on and on forever!". Look closely at the little girl in the chair. Now look at the book she's holding...it's LHTH, which has the same picture on the front. DD says that means that book has the picture of the book with the picture of the book with the picture....and yes, this went of for some time. LOL. What an observation! I love seeing her lessons having an effect in every day thinking outside of school time :) That's what makes "learning" different from "schooling".
