OT: Prayer Request - UPDATE

Post by SoaringEagle » Thu Oct 23, 2008 5:28 am

I would like for you all to pray for my son. He swallowed a quarter Monday evening. Yesterday I called his dr and the nurse said to bring him to the ER. They decided not to do anything since he is only 2-1/2 yrs old and made an appointment for me for Friday, to the larger hospital an hour away where they have a pediatric dr/surgeon and will take another x-ray and then decided to take it out by the throat, if it's still in the stomach, or have to cut him open if it is stuck in the intestines (pray that it isn't the case). Thank you.

Pray that God's peace will be with all of us. That Jesus will hold my ds's hand and hold him when/if I can't be with him.

Oh no!! What a scary thing to happen! I could see something like that happening in my house since my 2 year old puts everything in his mouth. I will add your little boy to my prayers.

I'm praying for you now...that God will give you peace in this situation...it can be frightening to think about our children being in harm's way. Also, that He will walk with your son (and your family) and cause that quarter to be in just the right spot where they can remove it easily without needing to do surgery. No matter what happens, know that God is with you, and He will be your strong tower in this time of need. Please let us know what happens.

Oh Julie, I'm so sorry this happened! :( I'm praying for you and your son. That could happen in the blink of an eye - those little hands are so fast. I pray that all of this will go quickly and smoothly, and that you will feel God holding your hand helping you through this each step of the way.

In Christ,
Julie

Oh my goodness I am just seeing this but I will most certainly be in prayer for you. How scary. Those kind of things happen in the blink of an eye and they are done before you can even stop them sometimes. I have to tell you I have been to the ER several times for things like this. It got to the point that I literally need to pray against it. And all of that is just to say it could have happened to all of us and I am so sorry it happen to your baby.

Please keep us updated!

Julie,

We'll say a prayer for you and your son right now. We've found our share of scary things in our kiddos mouths too. We'll pray for the Lord's hand to be over your son and your family.

Blessings,
Carrie

Julie,
I know how you feel. My daughter was a little older, and she swallowed a nickel. But, we had to watch and wait and hope it passed without getting caught up on anything. Not fun!
We will be praying that all goes well.
In His love,

Well, today's appointment was just a regular dr visit with the children's surgeon at the larger hospital. Wednesday is when my ds will go in to get the quarter removed. The local hospital made it sound like he was going to do it today but I guess they misunderstood this ped. surgeon dr. Makes for a long drive for me...

I'm sorry for the delay. I'm sure it was a letdown thinking it was going to be resolved today only to find out you had to wait. We'll be praying for everything to go smoothly on Wed.

awww julie...that's awful. I certainly hope everything works itself out to be the least invasive for your son. I'll send a prayer up right now.

Today was Simon's procedure. Got more x-rays of stomach. Wasn't in stomach anymore and ped. dr thinks it'll have no problem passing through. So he didn't have to go through it. He had fun playing with the toys and having a snack of apple juice and toast instead. I was praising God all the way home.

Praise the Lord for the good news! :D (I'm so glad that neither of you had to go through anything major. Whew!)
