Hi! I haven't posted anything since I introduced myself a few weeks ago but, I wanted to give you an update on starting LHTH with my DS. We just started two weeks ago going very slow. The first day I wasn't sure that he was ready for this yet because I couldn't seem to hold his interest except during the crawling around like the animals during the "Adam" song. However, when I started taping the letter "A" to the floor on day two he looked at me and said, "Where is b, and c ?" Then he wanted me to tape more letters on the floor and he sat there and sang the "ABC Song" to me all the way through!

I think this is going to work out great! We also did the Bible story when he first woke up and he wanted to grab the Bible and read it himself. We listened to the CD on the way to Grandma's that afternoon too. I am trying to spread this throughout the day while I am home with him to ease him into learning. I haven't done so well in tackling the numbers in the first two days but, that will fall in place as we go. He is still so young so I don't want to overwhelm him or myself for that matter since am new to homeschooling too. I will give more updates as we progress but, so far so good!

Welcome! I've been homeschooling for 3yrs. but I'm new to HOD. It's so different and exciting, I feel like a newbie all over again! I'm glad you and your little one are enjoying it. It sounds to me like you are doing an incredible job!! I got LHTH for my 4yo who already knows a lot of phonics and can ID all his letters, but just isn't ready for kindergarten yet. I have been letting my just turned 2yo ds sit in on much of it...we're only 2 weeks in but just recently, he sang the ABC song to me and counted from 1-11 all by himself!!! He loves the letters taped on the floor too. So, as you can see, we're right there with you! Thanks for sharing your homeschool moment with us! Keep up the good work with LHTH!

Oh Karen, that sounds so fun!

My ds loved the taped letters too, and often did the activity we'd done with it over and over long after "school" was over. I'm so glad to hear your little one's enjoying it too!

Karen,
I'm so glad that you're enjoying LHTH with your son! (

Tape Day

has reached weekly "holiday" status in our house.

There's cheering and jumping galore when we get out the masking tape!) I love what my little 2 are absorbing during our focus on the Bible stories in LHTH. My 4 yo is absorbing it all and my 2 yo who occasionally just drives his skid loader in circles around us (quietly - so I don't kick him out of the room

) still catches much more than I would have guessed.

Karen,
I'm so glad you're getting a chance to use LHTH with your little one! I have wonderful memories of my middle boys doing it and have one more little one waiting in the wings for his turn! My boys loved tape day too!
Blessings,
Carrie
