we are on Unit 3 day 3 ..... but we did not read out of History for Little Pilgrims..... we just read out of the bible. They were really disappointed. It was about Esau & Jacob.

could you give me a little feed back? Looking ahead to see *when* we will read from it again?

thanks for any input.

That's kind of funny. My dd prefers the Bible (but we use a Bible story book) and I've had to prepare her that we won't always be doing Bible stories every day for school. She thrives on routine and so she'd freak out on me if I didn't prepare her.

It will be a while until you're regularly reading in the History for Little Pilgrims book. We're on unit 15 (just finished it, actually), and we haven't used the Little Pilgrims book in a while. It's been mostly Bible for quite a while now. I'd suggest getting a Bible story book, unless you only read out of the actual Bible. Like I said, C absolutely loves the stories out of her story book, and it might make everything a little happier for everyone. :D

Thanks, Ashley... I was looking at my TM tonight trying to figure things out. I have Egermeier's Bible Story Book and lots of that matches but I would like to match what Carrie has in the book. It just makes it so much easier. :)

Which Bible Story book do you have?

We have like 3 or 4 that we already had and we just use those. One is Egermeiers (it was my mom's!), so we just kind of vary which we read. My dd LOVES Bible stories though and we often read them just throughout the day, so we just pick which Bible we want to read at the time. I don't remember the names of our story Bibles. We're story Bible collecters around here. I think it would be really helpful to have one of the Bible's Carrie schedules, but we've done fine just using our own. Hope that helps some!

Hi Teena,
My daughter prefers that we read the Egermeier book and it's not that hard to figure out if you just go by the scripture references, the Egermeier books list the chapter and verse under their story titles. We use it most of the time, but if I'm short on time, I fall back on the Family Time Bible which has shorter stories and more pictures.

The longer bible story might be enough to satisfy your kiddos.

We used the Family-Time Bible, and it's still one of my oldest ds's favorite Bibles. In fact, the cover fell off! The length of reading, the beautiful pictures, and the matching tie-in to LHFHG's theme makes it a great resource to have on hand. At that age, my sons needed the pictures and the shorter length of reading yet. I'd suggest getting that - I think you'd find your dc begging for more Bible then! :D :D :D

In Christ,
Julie :D
