OT - Prayer request for my Hubby

My husband Tony is having a crisis between sugar levels not being under control (Type 2 diabetic) and Depression / Anxiety. I covet your prayers for my husband. He is so depressed that he wants to stop taking all meds. He says "God's will" will be done no matter what he does, so he should just stop everything and accept whatever comes. He says we'd be better off as a family if he "went away" for a while. I think if he goes away, he's never coming back. I don't know where to turn right now. I pray the Lord will reveal the way for us to find healing whether through medicinal changes or whatever so that the man I married comes back to me.

Lee Ann I am praying for you and him both now. But please also get him to a doctor as well. That sounds like he may be saying things and feeling things because something is off in him. I am praying for wisdom for you and for him. It really sounds like he needs to see someone. Prayers coming your way!

I will keep this in prayer, Lee Ann.
The depression and uncontrolled sugar can play off one another. So that one can be exacerbating the other.
I pray he will seek a physician's care, and that he will place himself fully in the Great Physician's hands.
Lots of love - stacy

Lee Ann,
I'm sorry you're going through this. I know it must break your heart to see your husband feeling this way. I am praying for all of you, that God will work in your lives like never before, helping you to find the best way to bring healing and a balance with the sugar levels. Also, that He will become even more your special shelter and resting place, because you need extra encouragement and refreshing right now. Please know we are all here for you and are praying for you. Do let us know how things are developing. And as water2wine said, he does need to see a doctor. Maybe he could even speak with your pastor for counseling in this?

LeeAnn,
I'm surrounding you and Tony in prayer right now and will continue to do so. I know the ladies on the board will be upholding you in prayer as you seek answers and solutions. We pray for God's loving arms to be felt around your family and that He will be your shelter in this storm.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you for your prayers, my husband's depression and diabetes are not new, he is under doctor's care for both, but his sugar levels have never come down to normal in 9 years of treatment, and his depression is worsening. Things have gotten worse around here lately. He feels like a failure, he's lost all interest in everything. I will be getting in touch with his doctors tomorrow but I just pray the Lord will guide us. This is taking a toll on the whole family and frankly he seems like he's in worse shape than he was when we started treating his depression a few years ago.
THANKS.

LeeAnn -
I am praying for Tony and you. This must be a heavy burden for you to shoulder right now - I wish I could give you a hug!

I pray you can continue to find your strength in God. Often times just on the other side of our heaviest sorrow is great joy - May God see you through to that! I do think that your hubby needs to head back to the doctor and keep doing so until things are leveling out more. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to get a second (or third) opinion either. I had about 4 different doctor visits to several different doctors with diagnosis of possible strep, allergies, sinus infections, etc. and was put on very strong medication that did nothing but make me exhausted, depressed, and have insomnia - before a different doctor figured out my thyroid was not functioning hardly at all and probably hadn't been for awhile. Sometimes seeing someone different just clicks! BTW, my loving sister Carrie dragged me to see another doctor on the same day I had yet another wrong diagnosis, and that new doctor was the one that figured out (in about 10 minutes) that my thyroid was the problem. So, if you have to drag your dh to the doctor yet again, it may be the time that everything clicks! Same deal with seeing your Pastor - this might be a good idea too - we've done that before and at the time it was a big help. Keeping you and your family in my prayers!!
In Christ,
Julie

Lee Ann,
Just continuing to pray and hoping things are better. One thing that comes to mind is has he built up an immunity to whatever they are using for depression. I know that happens. Just putting that out there but mostly just hoping things are better and continuing to pray for you him and your children.

Lee Ann I am going to pray for you and your husband right now. I hope that you can get him to see a doctor and perhaps like my3sons said- get a second, third, fourth opinion. I hope that you feel the love of Jesus surrounding you right now.

Thank you for your continued prayers. Just when things were looking very bleak, my hubby perked up and seemed like things were getting better. Now they're sliding down again. I am playing phone tag with his therapist, hoping to connect in the morning.

((Lee Ann)), bless your heart. I'll be praying for your family as well. Is your dear husband being extremely careful about his diet? My mom is a diabetic, but refuses to believe that her diet has much to do with her condition. Medications can be a blessing at times, but also a hindrance if not combined with proper eating and daily exercise. I, too, would recommend a new doctor with a fresh perspective. Can the two of you take nice, relaxing walks in the evenings? We try to do that as many nights each week as is possible. Walking seems to liberate the mind as well as the body, and talking can often help. Blessings and protection for you all~

Lee Ann -
I'm continuing to uphold you and your dh in prayer. I know a lot of this is falling on your shoulders right now, and I pray for strength for you. Health is such a priority - when it's not working, it feels like nothing is. My brother-in-law in TX went through some very rough times healthwise, and they tried to continue on with life as it was - very, very, very busy to say the least. They would both agree now (a year later after diagnosis) that continuing on as is with everything was at a detriment to his health and my dear sister's health. One thing I took from that is that if health is poor, it becomes the priority. If you need to stop everything else, and wade through this with your dh, please give yourself permission to do that. If you need to take a week off from everything, that's o.k. We're so hard on ourselves sometimes, as homeschool moms we try to do it all. You need rest and a clear head right now too. Please take care of your health too. I know you can and will get through this; God is right there by your side!
Love in Christ,
Julie
