Question for Carrie or anyone about genre...

Post by Teena6 » Tue Sep 02, 2008 8:31 pm

I am going through ALL my books. So many books here over the years....

ok so my question ..... questions LOL

With the deluxe pkgs you have a different genre for each book. Is it that way for the extension pkg too?

also I am looking through the books I have and looking at the girl pkg and the classic. Is it ok to mix/match ... just as long as I get each genre?

thanks~

Teena,

For Beyond and Bigger the storytime (Deluxe pkgs) use books from the 9 genres. The extension pkg in Bigger is made up of books to correlate and give more reading for Science and History. You could look at those books in the Bigger Packages.

It is totally ok to mix and match for storytime from the packs! :D You can read whatever books you think would interest your kiddos. The appendix in Bigger, I know, even has one other option for each genre that is reccommended. You just need one good pick per genre to read.

Thanks Kathleen... that is what I needed to hear. Several friends with OLDER children (and no more young ones) shared that they had several of these books. Plus I had some and so forth.

Plus I am picking ones that will interest her.... like the horse books ;)

so the deluxe pkg is what we read aloud? That is good to know and the extension she reads on her own. :)

also do they read DITHOR on their own too? I think I am going to wait till next year to do DITHOR .... but wondering :)

it is hard to remember everything

I like the idea that there is even another way in the appendix  :!:
