Need help please!
This was the first week using LHTH with my soon-to-be 3 yr old. She loves doing the activities. The only thing she doesn't like is reading the bible stories. I really need help with this one. I've tried using different bible books and she just screams whenever I start to read those stories. If I try to tell her a story, she doesn't pay attention. Is there another way to tell her the story of creation without reading a book or storytelling?

Scottypenguin,
Something that might be helpful is to create a "story board" that you and your daughter can do together. I did this with my daughter and it turned out to be a great teaching/learning resource that can be referred to repeatedly.
I simply purchased large posterboard and printed out coloring pages that correlated to the days of Creation. She was able to color and glue the pages on to the posterboard while I talked briefly about what events took place each day. It was a fun activity that really kept her hands busy while I talked with her about Creation.
I will leave a resource for the coloring pages if you are interested. Hope this helps a bit!

A felt board could also help. or give her dolls and act it out.
Have you considered praying together before you start to read the bible stories. I'm sure Satan would love for you to get soooooooo frustrated that you decide to just "Not Do" that part of school... cause she's only 3 and you have plenty of time to teach her later...
If she object to the book itself read the story carefully then just tell it to her.

I had two quick thoughts!
One, have you tried reading the Bible Story to her while she is doing something else- like eating? You could show her the picture and read the story at breakfast or lunch. Then when you are "doing" school- you could remind her of the story... remember when we read about Adam and Eve, etc...
Second, do you have a story time with your little one? Maybe you could start by having a five minute story time with an enjoyable picture book with your little one. This will help to get her used to sitting and listening. I would start with one or two board books. A good time might be right after breakfast or lunch, or before nap. You could also try this during a meal to get her used to listening.
Just a suggestion,
Rebecca

Scottypenguin,
I'm just wondering if you've gotten a chance to use "A Child's First Bible" that is scheduled in LHTH? If not, you may wish to do that. Each story is only several sentences long and has wonderful pictures that my little ones loved to pore over. Usually at age 3 a few sentence story was about all my boys could handle. I always had them sit on my lap while I read the story, which they really loved. It also helps to read the story first, and then move on to the activities.
Blessings,
Carrie
