Reading Made Easy?

Hello everyone! I am hopefully going to be using "Beyond" with my 1st and 2nd grader soon. I am hoping you guys can help me with Phonics/Lang. Arts.
My 1st grade DD turned 6 in August. She is struggling with reading. I don't think there is a problem, just that we have skipped around in programs (trying to find the right one) and have not been consistent with phonics instruction. We have used MFW K, Sonlight, Saxon. I am wondering if Reading Made Easy would be a good fit for us. She already knows her letter sounds and short vowel sounds. She can read 3 letter c/v/c words pretty easily. She does confuse "b" and "d" regularly. I showed her the letter "q" yesterday and she didn't know what it was or the sound. But I think with some review, she will be fine.
For those who have used Reading Made Easy, could you tell me the positives/negatives of the program? Should I start at the beginning of the book with my DD? Does Reading Made Easy explain the phonics rules clearly?
Thanks in advance for any help!
