Can I get a PTL?!

Our first official week of school for this year was a bit of a mess as I have been hit with a stomach bug that left me in bed Tuesday-Thursday last week, and then decided to rear it's ugly head again yesterday. Sigh. The best laid plans......, but maybe there was a reason for that.
Anyway, on Friday after I had dropped my dd at work, my 5yo was in the back seat chattering, as usual (why I worried about this kid not talking I will never know.) All of a sudden he starts asking about God, salvation, heaven, prayer, etc. Shocked me out of my socks! He's obviously been thinking some heavy thoughts about this, and they finally bubbled to the surface. He wanted to know how he could ask God to come into his heart, when he could do it. Now mind you, I'm driving. My answer was that he could pray anytime. He said, "Now?" I said sure, looking for a place to pull over. Then he said, "How about after school?" Absolutely. I kept on driving knowing I wanted to dig out some stuff we use in Awana with the kids to make it a little more concrete for the kids. Couldn't find it. My dd found them when she came home, so I gave them to my husband, and he went through them with our son. (I've had the privilege of leading both our other children in a prayer to ask Jesus into their hearts, and I really wanted my dh to have that experience as well.) A little while later, out came our son beaming from ear to ear telling me he'd asked Jesus into his heart, his sins were forgiven, and he'd go to heaven when he died! PTL! My dh had written the date in ds's little NT and ds had signed it. At church yesterday he was showing everyone who would look his Bible. He's so excited! Maybe I have a little missionary on my hands.
Just had to share.............
