Great first day with Bigger...

I just had to come on and boast about how great our day went! Today we began Bigger...with my dd 8 and ds 10..using the extension packs, too. I decided to try reading those aloud so my daughter can be included. We'll see how that goes, but today was a breeze. We started at 8:35 with Bible, and by 12:05 we were done. I still have to add storytime because I did not request the book soon enough from the library and it is not here yet, and DITHOR. Those two will add a bit of time to our days, but I say 3.5 hours for a first day is awesome! We then ate lunch...kids watched Charlotte's Web during lunch because we got it from the library...then I did school with ds 5. He is using LHTH...and we've added A Reason for Handwriting and Doing it Carefully (from LHFHG) because we have it and he really enjoys both. Even adding the handwriting it only took about 30 minutes to complete. After a few weeks, maybe even months, I plan to add RME as well to get him started reading. I know this will all take some adjusting, and some days will be more difficult than others, but I'm so happy today went well. The kids enjoyed everything and so did I. It was fun and relaxing...just what I was hoping for!
Oh and I almost forgot....they enjoyed the brief lessons in Singapore so much they each requested they get to do an extra day's work, so I let them!
