My method for tracking for 4 day units

Well, this may or not be great. I just developed this method today. Tomorrow is the first day of Arts & History Academy for dd so we will not be able to "do school" on Tuesdays. (We also have lots of extra activities on Tuesday afternoons.) So I added an extra day of Math and Storytime today. I will add 2 extra boxes each day so that we can complete 5 days in 4. In order to keep track of what I am doing, I used the removable/restickable tabs and made 4 - one for each extra set of boxes, Math & Storytime, History and Poetry, SAGH (Science, Art, Geography, History Tmeline) and Bible Study, and Lang. Arts & Reading. I have 3 tabs on Unit 2-Day 2 and Math & Storytime on Unit2-Day3. I will continue to move the tabs as we proceed so that I will know which day of the 4 sets of boxes we are working on.
Okay that was a bit long and possibly confusing. I think it will work. We shall see.
The good news is that if we are not able to add extra boxes and we don't complete a unit in a week, it is absolutely ok.

Hi I am doing the same thing. Funny it's the same day we are busy too Tuesday! I am doing two days of school on Monday, but it didn't take us twice as long to do it though and the kids liked it. We are also using beyond and a bit of this and that to make it work for both of my kids. Don't you just love how easy it is to change things around with HOD! Sure love the program and I think we will be sticking with it for sometime now.

I do love it! I am amazed at how little time it takes to give so much knowledge to her. And she is such a sponge! She is memorizing the Bible verse, the poetry selection and the additional memory work in Language Lessons and on top of that she is getting her spelling words right almost immediately. I love this age - the sponge age!

Judy, our Wyatt is a 2002 baby.... we started in the LHFHG cause he is slow going with his phonics. But he too, is like a sponge.... JUST SOAKS it up. NOW, our 5 yr old Wes.... does it with us but he is just along for the ride
they change so quick, don't they?
blessings,
Teena

that sounds like it will work out great for you! It is wonderful how easy it is to adjust this curriculum to fit my needs.

That sounds like it will work.

I just use a clip on the page we are on and check off the boxes if I need to or sometimes if we are doing things a little unusual if we have a doctors appointment or something I just put a post it note in there telling me things like science needs to be done or something. I love those little paper clip book marks. I use those with all my manuals. I have the index tabs at every section in the manual so I can easily find spelling etc. At any rate it is pretty easy to stay on track. Last year we had a record number of doctor visits and we had no problems.
