Grammar Placement

I'm just finishing up BLHFHG with my granddaughter for the current school year and will be moving on to BHFHG in August. We followed the grammar curriculum which was given on day 5 each week in BLHFHG. As we move into BHFHG, should I begin with English 2 or 3 (from Rod and Staff)? My granddaughter will turn 8 in July so is on the younger side for a third grader. I would say her reading level is advanced but comprehension is about average. Any advice for this newby?
Thanks,
Sherrell

HOD recommends finishing level 6 by the end of 8th, plus, one level somewhere (4 or 6, usually) is split over 2 years, so R&S 2 is plenty for 3rd grade.
Personally, my kids skip R&S in Bigger (I don't care about covering everything every year and prefer to follow CM recommendations to start formal grammar lessons around age 9/10), so we start R&S 3 in Preparing, without ever using R&S 2, and none of my kids have had a problem doing it that way.
Blessings,

Level 2 is what HOD recommends for the average student in Bigger, including most third graders/8 year old. I would only do Level 3 in Bigger with a child that is at least fourth grade.
