State History in HOD?

This next fall, I will be starting my son, then 10.5 year old 5th grader, in Creation to Christ. Before deciding on Heat of Dakota, we've been doing "50 States Under God" on our own this year. He's nearly finished with it. My question is whether we should do our state history study as well this year or how Heart of Dakota handles state history? We bought the Abeka state book and other resources "50 States" recommends but have not yet done our 6 week study on Oklahoma. The fourth graders here do state history in fourth grade, but I'm growing weary this year. Still, he said he thinks doing it over the summer sounds fun. I was just wondering how it's handled in HOD and if we should save our resources for 3 years or do it now? (I also have three younger kiddos and my middle two have started HOD this year).

In Rev2Rev, there is a study of the 50 starts. Then in MtMM there is the option to study a specific state. These are the two Moodle school guides that include US history, so they were the logical places to put state studies.
