Hello. My son completed Teaching Textbooks 7 and is currently on lesson 36 of Teaching Textbooks prealgebra. I was wondering if I can start VideoText now or would you recommend completing TT prealgebra first?
He is an average math student. He is 14 years old and finishing up 8th grade this year. He is only on lesson 36 of TT prealgebra because we took a break from TT and did Saxon 8/7 for a few months. Hoping to catch up on math this summer.

Thank you,
Renee

My 8th grade dd was in the exact same scenario as your son. She's also an average math student and started TT pre-algebra after completing TT 7, but became so frustrated with it. My ds used Videotext Algebra with great results and is now using Videotext Geometry, so after much consideration, I switched her to Videotext and she is thriving with it. She just finished up module A and is about to head into module B. Videotext Algebra covers pre-algebra, Algebra I and Algebra II, so your son would get the needed pre-algebra. I say go for it. I have not regretted the switch!
