Historical Art Book?

Hi! We are in Unit 26 of LHFHG, and just read a story about George Washington crossing the Delaware during the War of Independence, and the text mentioned a painting depicting this scene. We looked it up online, and my girls and I really enjoyed this fine art visual to complement our history today! It got me thinking, I'd really love to own a book full of historical paintings such as this, that we could refer to as we study history! Does anyone know of such a book? Better yet, is there any chance there is such a book used in future HOD guides, that we could purchase early?

Thanks, Nealewill! This sounds great! I looked on the website and can't seem to find it, though...would you mind giving me the link?
Thank you!

See the Economy package. The book is Looking at Pictures, and instructions for each unit are usually Day 4 in the guide (you can download the first unit to see how it's written):

In addition to what Rice posted for you here is the description that is in the introduction of RTR.
Art Appreciation
One day in each unit focuses on art appreciation using a combination of
Looking at
Pictures
and Charlotte-Mason inspired picture study.
Looking at Pictures
combines clear entertaining prose, imaginative layouts, and stunning color
reproductions of some of the world’s greatest paintings to teach children to enjoy
and respond to art. Through picture study, according to Charlotte Mason,
Children
learn not merely to see a picture but “to look at it”, taking in every detail
(Vol. 6,
p. 214-215). Art appreciation is scheduled for the parent and student to do
together. Art prints for the picture study either use full-color prints from
Looking
at Pictures
or from the “Art Gallery” provided in the back of the
Student Notebook.

Also a very comprehensive Art study is done in the high school World History guide.

Well, you are well paired with HOD if you enjoy history-based art! :D In addition to all of what's been shared here already, I'll just whet your appetite for what is to come even more by sharing that the full-color notebooking pages (used from CTC through the last high school guide USII) are often full of lovely history-based art, portraits, paintings, photographs, billboards, period-specific memorabilia, etc.! You have such wonderful Charlotte Mason inspired days ahead of you in HOD! I'm glad you are enjoying LHFHG, and I hope you have a great rest of your homeschool year enjoying HOD!

In Christ,
Julie
