which level grammar?

Post by HSMom03 » Mon Sep 12, 2016 6:38 pm

for an almost 10-year-old (older 9-year-old) 4th grader who has had no grammar instruction so far, would I start him at level 2 rod & staff? Or is he way too old for that? I wouldn't just jump to and start him at level 4 rod & staff would I?? Thank you...

I would consider Level 3 assuming he is on grade level in reading and writing. If he had a basic understanding of sentence formation (maybe not formal but image sense if what sounds and reads correctly), level 3 should be fine, especially if you are doing Preparing.

Level 3 is a good basic grammar. My 10 year old son is using level 3 this year.

English 3 it is, great! Thanks... We will actually be doing Bigger with Extensions for grades 2 and 4, ages 7/8 and 9/10.
