What Bible in LHFHG?

I just started LHFHG and it has Bible memory verses. Do we just use our own Bible for that? I'm worried it'll be too hard for my kids. Do most people use a Bible made for kids? What version should we use? Thanks!

We use the same version we use for church and Awana (KJV). If you bought the CD, it has the verses set to music. I think the case also lists what version is used for each verse (it is a mix of NKJV, NIV,, NASB, etc).
You will be surprised what kids can memorize! One verse a week in a "real" Bible isn't too much. My kids regularly memorize 4+ verses a week between Awana, church, and sometimes HOD (we don't focus on memorization with the HOD verses, but we do read them daily through Bigger, and I make them repeat them after me - some weeks that is enough for them to have them memorized).

I fully agree with the pp. Use your Bible and know our kids will do much better than we do in memorizing. The texts I know best are the ones I learned as a child.

The verses chosen in LHFHG are short and very appropriate. If you think your child needs help with them, the music CD will make it SO easy. But if you have a Bible translation you really like, definitely use that instead of the CD - for us it has helped to be consistent with the translation and we all know the verses and can say them together.
