Principles of Mathematics Accelerated?

Has anyone used Principles of Mathematics at the accelerated pace to finish book 1 in 1 semester? I'm considering it...of course we may need to slow down on certain lessons as needed, which is fine, and that's actually partly why I'd like to do as much as possible, accelerated. Thank you!

We just started using POM this year. I saw the accelerated guide and at first it looked a little overwhelming, but after completing a few days it may not be as much so. I can see if you have a strong reader that most of the lessons could easily be combined by the prepared schedule. We combined a couple early on because we didn't need to take time to build the abacus. But as we go through it I can see that we could combine easy days if not pick up the accelerated schedule. I look at it just like the start of the year, we may have long days at the beginning until we are running smoothly and by the end of the year we are combining days because we became better at it. There was another post about POM that lead to some discussion about this as well that had some good insight, you may be able to scroll through the main board and find it or do a search. Hope this helps.

I definitely think you would need to have a child that is a strong reader and that is probably a bit older. My oldest started it this year and I can't imagine using the accelerated scheduled.
Just curious - what did your child finish up to now? If your child has finished Singapore 6B, then you could probably start POM2 with no problem. I do like POM 1. We are using it this year and loving it. But I don't think I would try and squeeze two years into one with that schedule, especially considering how full HOD is already. Just my opinion.
