Which subjects are covered in LHFHG and Bigger?

I have a question about the LHFHG and Bigger guides. I want to put together a planner or binder/notebook with tabs for the different subjects my kids will be working on this year. Can anyone tell me what subjects, exactly, they will be studying in these two guides? Before my HOD order arrived, I had written down these subjects: Bible, English/LA, Science, Math, History/Geography, Spelling, Health/PE. I thought those subjects would pretty much cover it all, but then I received my order, and after looking through the teacher's guides, it seemed as though the subjects were not as clearly outlined. Should I add any subjects/topics to the ones I mentioned above (for example: Phonics, Handwriting, etc.) and are there any I should eliminate from my tabs? It looks like they work on History for these guides, but not Geography - should I just include a History tab for now? This probably seems like a silly question, but this is how I'd like to organize my notebook (with tabbed sections). I guess what I just really need to know is - Which subjects will be covered in LHGHG and Bigger consistently throughout these guides?

I hope my question makes sense! Thanks in advance for your help! :)

What do you want to put into the binder? That might help answer your question. But often, using the titles to the boxes is easiest. But some boxes never have any "written" work, so depending on what you are wanting it for, you might not want to include all of the boxes! And some things have workbooks (math for example), so you wouldn't need a separate place for that work.

For LHFHG there is not really any work that you need to put in a binder....we had one this year but never used it.

For Bigger....we have 2 binders, one for Science notebooking and Lab pages. Binder 2 has History notebooking, vocab pages (if you use notecards as suggested in the guide you will not need them in the binder), and an art/misc section. You could have a section for grammar is you do not used a spiral notebook and also a diction/spelling section and one for handwriting/copywork. Math is in our math book.

Thank you for your replies, ladies! :D

I will say that I realized that I wasn't clear in what exactly I was looking for (my mistake, I didn't explain it well). I want to actually have a planner where I can see the day or week at a glance, that outlines what each child in each of their guides is going to work on for the day. I like having it all laid out in that manner before me. I just need to know what major subjects are covered in each guide, so that I can set up my planner in such a way where I am able to view the day or week's activities at a glance.

Does that make any sense at all? :?

A day at a glance is just what the guide does for you (everything on the 2 pages is what you do in a day)....If I need to see what is going on each week, I just read over the plans for a week.

If you want to make yourself a planner, you can use the same 'subject' that the boxes have.

LHFHG has 9 boxes to be done each day.
1-reading about History
2-This one rotates between Science, Art, Dramatic Play, or Thinking Games
3-Rhymes
4-Bible Study
5-Music
6- Fine Motor Skills (alternates between the workbook and the handwriting book)
7-Storytime
8-Phonics
9-Math

Bigger has 10 boxes...
1-Reading about History (one day a week it is History notebooking)
2-This one rotates between Vocabulary, History activity, Timeline, Geography, and Artistic Expression
3-poetry
4-Bible Study
5-Music
6-Language Arts (includes handwriting, Grammar and spelling/dictation)
7-Reading
8-Storytime
9-Math
10-Science (one day a week is notebooking and another day is an experiment)

Is this what you were looking for?

If you wanted to do that you would just use the boxes, with the one that changes daily being the "rotating box." Under LA in the higher guides there are typically at least 2 activities each day but sometimes they change (especially in Preparing on up). I personally like using the guide itself as my daily planner. It seems like you might end up copying all of the info in the guide if you wanted to the detailed instructions on your planner pages. Also it helps your kids get used to using the guide to look at their instructions, which becomes especially relevant once they are supposed to be independent.
