Hello again!
I am planning to start a timeline in LHFHG on our rec room wall. We are blessed with huge room and lots of wall space to do this, so i was planning on keeping it up year after year (or at least until we hit the preprinted notebooks) and just adding to it. However, in looking at the sample weeks, it looks like the timeline events duplicate. Are there very many repeat "events" to the point that I should just start over each year or can I go with my original plan?

Re: Timeline on wall - adding to it year after year
In each guide, the students make their own timeline. In Beyond and Bigger I think they draw a picture and put names & date. We used cardstock paper for this, with the paper divided up in 50 year increments (instructions in the guides) and make a small book out of it. In Preparing, they make their own accordion style timeline out of index cards and it can be all taped together to make a book or taped onto a door in stair step style. In the older guides, I'm not sure, we aren't there yet. I think HOD has them making their own, drawing the pictures themselves rather than using something like Homeschool in the Woods, because it makes the timeline their own and builds their skills. I love that method! But having a big family timeline is great to do...can't have enough IMHO. You could also get Veritas Press history cards and keep it up permanently, I've considered that, but they are pricey!
