Hi all!
A few more weeks of Preparing for my oldest son, now almost 9 yo , and we will be moving on to CReation to Christ. Just want to make sure what exactly is taught, the "millions of years" viewpoint of creation, or the view of earth being a few thousand years old, etc.
just really feel strong about what teaching exactly what is written in Genesis to have a solid understanding of creation, and also the foundation of the Bible.
Thanks so much for any help, have a blessed day!

HOD is written from the young earth creation vote point. You will see that in MtMM, there is a creation vs evolution study, strengthening their faith scientifically.

You will love CTC, as the Biblical viewpoint is the strongest viewpoint and the other materials bring in ways to see that historically and even from our archeaological/historical record, we can see that the creation and history accounts in the Bible are accurate. They suggest adaptations if the parents do not hold to the "young earth" viewpoint but if that is the viewpoint you agree with then you will find CTC fits in with that perfectly. I also love the way Bible history is interwoven with other sources and other histories that are learned.

Thank you both for the info! I am looking forward to learning more about CTC, we are adding an Answers in Genesis Bible Study to our day and wanted to make sure CTC would support this teaching. We have really enjoyed HOD, looking forward to next near.... Would love any other input on CTC!

You will love CTC. HOD uses multiple resources from Answers in Genesis in several of the guides.

I agree - you will love it. I grew up in a non-Christian home and did come to the know the Lord until I was 21. I love learning all this stuff along with my kiddos as an adult and I read most of the books my dd read in CtC. They are fantastic!!!!

Yes, CTC supports Ken Ham / Answers in Genesis teaching. Answers in Genesis recommends home schoolers to use Diana Waring as part of their ancient history, and Carrie does use the Diana Waring CD in CTC. The Diana Waring CD in CTC is fabulous!
Christine Miller used Bishop Usher's dates from 4004 BC to the time of Christ. Christine Miller is the main history spine for the first half of CTC. Bishop Usher went through the Old Testament hundreds of years ago, and based his time-line on the generational ages given in the OT. His time-line is the basis for the dates in CTC.
Genesis Roots, by Ruth Beechick, is very much from an Answers in Genesis point of view. It is apologetics and was good for my son and I to go through together.
Land Animals, the science used, by Apologia is also young earth creation in CTC.
The time-line is young earth that you put into the note book.
One of my favorite parts of CTC is in the early units Carrie has them write into their note books the first 10 generations from Adam to Noah and then the 10 generations from Noah to Abraham. One of the things it shows is that Adam would have still been alive when Noah's father and grand-father were alive. I thought this was an excellent exercise for them to do. It makes ancient Biblical history come to life and to make sense.
I think you will like it. The reason I picked HOD was for their young earth / Biblical creation resources and TM for CTC. The story time books are wonderful as well. Great program.

Thanks so much Loving Jesus! That's is so helpful, and also encouraging that I will have the material needed to teach what we feel is important.
This helps greatly!
