MTMM DNA science kit help needed! Please! UPDATE!

HELP!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son is starting the DNA kit in MTMM. We did the first experiment where you separate the DNA from the tomato. We've attempted it two times. When you mix the soap/salt mixture with the tomato pieces, it makes so much foam that it's all foam. We've let it drip for almost 24 hours through the funnel and still NO liquid. It's all just foam. What do we do? Thanks.


Update: Well, it took almost a WEEK for the tomato liquid to separate from the foam and drip into the test tube. When we had enough, we performed the experiment to isolate the DNA. My son was really happy with the results and said, "Now, THIS is the kind of science experiment I've been waiting to do!" I'm glad we just let it sit and completed the experiment. So, plan to leave a lot more than 10 min. to get this one done. We just did it the following week on day 3 along with the normal assignment for that day. It didn't take long to finish it.

I just asked my daughter (who did it a couple years ago). She said that was the worst experiment ever and that she never did get it to work.

I remember not being too impressed with this whole kit. It seems like my daughter had a lot of experiments not work.

My husband did that experiment and he remembers it was challenging to get liquid out, but he did manage to do it and we did separate the dna and it was pretty cool to see. He can't remember what he did though to get it to work.
