CtC w/2 kids

Post by cotton1221 » Thu Feb 25, 2016 8:12 am

Hello Ladies,
When doing CtC with 2 kids what materials, other then the notebooking pages, will I need to order two of? I vaguely remember seeing something about this but can't find where I saw it.
Thanks for your time.

The two things that I think you would need 2 of:

1) student notebooking pages (obviously they will each do their own assignments in this)

2) guide
This may seem like a pricey one to have to buy two of, but while they are working independently they will be referring to it often, and I do let my daughter check off what she's finished in the guide. While I can see figuring out a way to share all the other books, the guide would be more difficult to share, so if you can afford to I would really recommend two guides.

3) math workbooks/textbooks, any consumables
If you're using Singapore you might want to consider having two sets of textbooks and workbooks, since the textbooks aren't that expensive. Some people let their child write in the textbooks since that is easier and they are pretty cheap. But the textbooks could be shared (my husband prefers our kids to not write in the textbooks, he says it's good practice for them to write things down in their notebook, and to make sure they make notes about everything so that he knows what the day's assignment was).

4) Write With the Best
You can write in this and I did let my DD do that this year - there are assignments in almost every unit where they are to underline adverbs, adjectives, descriptive verbs, etc in different colors. I think you could copy them too and have them in the children's notebooks so I don't see this as necessary, just to let you know there are assignments like that.

For the independent work, you will want to think of a schedule or a way that the books can be shared. For the things you are teaching/reading then obviously you will be doing them all together.

If you do the history pack, you will need two Joshab's journals as well.
