Preparing over 2 years

I'm thinking of doing Preparing with my will be 9 year old next year. Currently she is doing Bigger just fine. I did Preparing with my 11 year old last year and he was able to keep up with the requirements just fine. My daughter will have trouble with all the writing. Her reading level will not be a problem, but doing all the copywork/ narration writing will be an issue just because of her need to have everything be correct and neat.
So, the question is - have you stretched Preparing over two years and by the second year, did you lose interest in the whole thing?

I would suggest you don't worry about making it last two years. Start at half speed and then keep going like that until she seems ready for full speed. This is what I did with my second daughter. She finished Bigger around the time she turned 8 (June 2014) because she was combined with an older sister. We had pushed perhaps a little too hard to finish Bigger at that age and she was not really ready for Preparing. For one school semester I tried combining with her younger brother and beefing up Beyond, but that didn't really work so in Jan 2015 she started Preparing. We took it half speed until summer and have been full speed since then. She will finish in 5 weeks (i.e. mid-March). It feels good to think that I will be able to start gradually and do some half speed with the next guide before we have summer break. Then next year she will probably be able to start her next guide half speed before summer starts too.
Preparing is a wonderful guide and we are certainly not tired of it! Hth!
