If a child has finished level 7/8, what do you do for their "alone" reading time, if anything?

Some of the Living Library stuff from the High School guides? Do DITHOR 6/7/8 level again or pick out just whatever genres from that you need to finish out a year or something?

I would look at the storytime books for CtC as well as the extensions for Preparing up. I bet there are a lot of great books there covering a variety of genres. Also, the $5 book list of full of books at the 6/7/8 level you could pick from.

Those are all great ideas, but I'm curious about the original question from a different perspective: what is actually scheduled for reading after DITHOR 6/7/8? What is the last guide that DITHOR is scheduled and what reading is done in the guide after that?
I've heard of the Living Library but don't understand yet when/what that is and how it is used (other than assuming it will be used as High School Lit.). Is there something between DITHOR and the Living Library? Is it done for just one year or over most of the HS guides?
(okay, now I'm probably adding to the OP's original question!)
Blessings,

The living library "replaces" the storytime box in the guide. Carrie has a different literature plan for each guide. In WG, it is a mixture of BJU and "real" books. In WH and AH1, she created plans using just "real" books. You can look at the first week and the sneak peaks to see more about that.
So the last guide DITHOR is scheduled in is MtMM.

Repeat DITHOR 6/7/8 using different books until the end of MTMM. You would use the same workbook but different lit. books. Or if you want you could pick up another literature program until your child reaches the first high school guide, World Geography. I've had my boys work through a Progeny Press guide, such as for The Cay, just to mix it up a bit. I don't like doing more than one, though, and we don't do everything in it. We prefer DITHOR. If you are going to repeat DITHOR 6/7/8, just look for other books in the genres you want to cover. I don't see HOD's Book Shop on their home page anymore, but it still exists. You can find several book ideas for the 6-8 reading level in each genre on the left of the page:
