High school writing

Hi everyone. We are switching to HOD from another very similar curriculum for our high school years. We have used Essentials in Writing for the last two years and my ds will be starting 9th in a few weeks (after I get everything ordered). The last EIW he used was level 8 for 8th grade. Do you think it will be a jump for 9th grade to use EIW level 10 instead of level 9 like we were planning on doing?
Thanks for your answers.

My daughter is doing Level 10 this year after doing the 8th grade program. She has had no problems skipping a level. This program breaks things down into nice easy steps.
Blessings,
Patti

This is a post explaining why IEW Grade 10 rather than IEW Grade 9 was chosen.

We did the HOD writing planned in each of the guides prior to WG EIW Gr. 10, and they didn't include EIW Gr. 9. Our son did just fine moving into EIW Gr. 10 for his 9th grad WG year. We thoroughly enjoyed EIW Gr. 10 and 11 within HOD's WG and WH guides, and now we are enjoying "In Their Sandals" in the US1 guide.
I like how the skills build each year from guide to guide, and I also like how how there is variety in writing programs. I hope you enjoy EIW Gr. 10 as much as we did!
In Christ,
Julie

Hi Kelli! I think we did get to talk, and your things should be on their way - HOORAY! Try not to chase down the postman.
Can't wait for you to start!
In Christ,
Julie
