I'm sure it helps that this is our seventh year of HOD.

The older kids are getting more and more independent.

I can never express enough gratitude to Carrie and her family for these guides. They are such a blessing to us!

So good to hear! We'll be up to 5 guides when we start at the beginning of September and I know it doesn't all quite fit in a morning (as DH wants us to keep to). Hoping I can keep on top of everything a bit better than last year and will have wisdom as to what isn't "necessary" to keep the important plates spinning!

Congratulations on a great start!
Blessings,

Wow, that's amazingly fantastic. Hope that's just an indicator that you're going to have a great year.

This gives me hope as I will have five guides starting in January!

Mine will be...

Jayden - finishing RtR
Grace - starting CTC
Julianna - finishing Bigger
Evie - middle LHFHG
Penelope - starting LHTH half speed.

However, I've always worked with them on being more independent than the guide calls for. For instance Julianna already reads at least her history or science for Bigger... occasionally she reads both. She does handwriting completely independently. Grace (Preparing right now) reads history along with ind history and science. The both read their English lesson on their own, and work math after I explain any new concept. Evie already does her FMS/handwriting/math after I explain what to do.

It just about makes me cry to think that today will be the last day (ever) of "Leap, Leap to North America." Five out of my six kids still act it out each morning. LOL

(So I think even if it is the last official school day of it, I'll still hear it from time to time... just like "A, A, Adam, can you believe?")

That is so sweet! This is only my 3rd year using HOD and my first year repeating two different guides. I can't believe how much I love re-reading these books and listening to the songs. I also love seeing how each of my kids do things differently and with such excitement as they make those same discoveries that their siblings made in prior years. It is so fun!

I can relate to this...

That is how I felt a few years' back doing LHFHG with Emmett. I am hopeful their will be grandchildren someday enjoying LHFHG, maybe with me once and awhile as 'grandma!'

In Christ,
Julie

Last year I wanted to sell homeschool curriculum that we'd finished with. My oldest had a fit at the thought that I might sell my Little Hands guide. She said absolutely not b/c she'd want to use it with her kids. :)
