What do you do so the student doesn't see the incorrect passage they did the day before while writing it again that day?

My kids used to just put a piece of colored paper over the page. However, we now go farther into the book (like a couple of pages forward) and they write the passage there. Once they master that passage and are ready for the next, they just go back to earliest place in the notebook where you can start writing again. Needless to say, my kids dictation composition books are NOT in date order LOL. But it is effective :-)

We cover the previous passage with a folded piece of white paper.

We use a spiral bound notebook and they do grammar in the same notebook. Every day they start a new page (or use the reverse side of a page), so only that day's page is visible while they write.

My kids use a spiral notebook for dictation. They use a fresh page each day.

I have typed out the passages on one page per passage. They study that. I keep those dictation day by day pages in a folder.

Mine just cover it up if it's where they can see it. Generally using whatever is closest.... paper, book, toy, pillow, whatever :)
