setting up science in RTR

I'm trying to decide how to do the science this year in Resurrection to Reformation. I thought I'd throw it out there to see how others have done it. In Bigger my daughter used a big sketchbook for the notebooking and science experiments. She used the sheet to copy in the back of the guide for the experiment in Preparing. (can't remember right now about the notebooking) In CTC she used the sheet from back of the guide for the experiment and some pages I copied off of Facebook files for notebooking and questions. I thought she needed the helps for that but I don't want to do that again.

She's not the greatest at keeping up with papers, she's pretty much a disaster and things take her forever to organize things. I was thinking about using a sketchbook for experiments and notebooking and a composition notebook for the written narrations. Any thoughts on this?

Good question!! This is my first year doing RtR (we did a 1/2 a year with bigger years ago but that is all we have done)...so we are going in 'blind'. Hoping to see some responses here. :)

I really like keeping a 2" binder and filling it with everything for the year. However, if your child isn't good with keeping track of paper, then I would recommend just using a blank drawing pad of paper. There are instructions in the guide that talk about dividing the book up into 3 sections. You would make the first section for notebooking, the second section for questions and the third for experiments. You wouldn't have the template in there for the science experiment but it would be easy enough to write question, guess, experiment and solution on each page (or whatever those titles were that form. I am on vacation and no where near a manual :-) )
