Howdy all!
Sorry I have not been on here in ages. :) I was wondering about doing LHFHG for K. I've always used Little Hands for K, but my one going into K in the fall really wanted to do "school" like his older siblings, so we started Little Hands when he was 4. We haven't finished it, but I know he could do something more for K (and would like to), so I am considering using LHFHG. Placement chart his fits. I just have always used LHFHG in first grade with my older children, so I'm just not sure. It has also been several years since I have used it.

Also I have an older copy of History Stories for Children. Is it possible to still use it? I know page numbers may be different, but does it say in the guide the title of the story to where I could figure it out? (I used to own the guide and all, but thought we were done with it, so I don't have the guide anymore, and the last time I needed it I was able to borrow it. I now, by the Lord's amazing grace have 2, and Lord willing will have 3 children who will go through it, so it is time to buy it again! :) )

I will also be doing WH, Rev to Rev, CTC in the fall, (plus a toddler), as well as possibly moving and Lord willing having a baby in December...so with all that, I may need to just keep my K child doing the basics of math and phonics, and may end up having to wait to be able to do LHFHG when he is in first. We'll just have to see how things go, but I do think he would enjoy something more, if I can do it this year.
Blessings,
Michelle

I think it is really up to you. If you are interested, you could always do math, reading and handwriting at that child's level and still go through LHTH. You have a lot of wiggle room with the age of your child. Or you could just wait until after you have the baby to bump your child up too. I am not sure which would be easier for you. But I do think that if your child fits in the skills then you could definitely do LHFHG with that child.

What if you added in all the K level workbook stuff to LHTH? That's generally what I do when they get to that age where they know too much for LHTH, but I'm not really ready for LHFHG. I do the K level FMS, math, and handwriting along with LHTH.

We've done LHFHG for K 3 times and it's always worked out well for us! I'm using LHTH for 4 yo prek right now. But I completely understand wanting to wait. If you decided to add the K workbooks to LHTH like others have suggested, I think you would be just fine.

Since the other kids are in older guides that are for days a week, how about doing LHFHG through Bigger four days a week. That would take three and a half years, meaning you won't get to Preparing quite as quickly.

Stephanie, I had the exact same idea last night! So I think your reply is conformation that it may be a good way to go. :) I really didn't want to repeat LH, but I will keep that as an idea if LHFHG seems to be too much for life next year.

Does anyone know the answer to my question about being able to use the older version of History Stories for Children?

Blessings!
