I'm wondering what programs you all have used and loved/not loved for learning Latin, Greek, and any other languages beyond English. Also, has anyone done Russian? Thanks 8)

We have really enjoyed Song School Latin put out by Classical Academic Press. I will say, though, for us the DVD really makes the program so I would keep that in mind if you choose this one. It's fine without it, but it's my children's favorite part. I learn a lot from it too!

The only one we've tried, so far, is Visual Latin. My 16yo loves it. The teacher is very funny, and he makes a lot of sense.

Jennymommy, we have been using Latin for Children by Classical Academic Press, primers A & B. I love this program because it's easy to implement, only 20 minutes a day, it's fun, and you don't need any latin training you learn along with your kids. The dvd's are extremely helpful. The activity book is fun puzzles to help reinforce vocabulary and concepts. We also like the website headventureland to practice vocab. I have tried Latin's not so Tough and Latina Christiana and did not like either. LC was very boring, my kids hated it. Latin's Not So Tough was not explained well for someone with no Latin exposure. I hope this helps. Hope you enjoy your Latin journey.

We have also used Classical Academic Press and love them. We have used their Latin for Children series and the Song School Latin. Both are fantastic. My kids recently said they also wanted to learn Greek. We are 1 chapter away from finishing the Greek Code cracker and all of will then dive into Song School Greek this summer. We can't wait!

For me, Classical Academic Press does make learning fun and interesting. I do love the DVDs they have for both the Latin for Children and Song School Latin. We usually get the flash cards for each level because they come with games and we play the games. We have used their website too and is good for reviewing vocabing as well.

We've done Song School Latin both 1 and 2 and Latina Christiana 1. We've also done Song School Spanish and Rosetta Stone Spanish. We've really liked all of these.
